    About this item

    Muriel Metcalfe was born in the Yorkshire Dales in 1910. She won a scholarship to Armstong College of Art, Newcastle when she was 14. She married Fred Lawson in 1933 and they continued to live together in the Yorkshire Dales where they painted and exhibited work both locally and further afield. This charming portrait of a girl is signed lower right and is mounted and framed in a quality oak frame giving an overall size of 23"x 18".
