A Vintage Moroccan Tamegroute Pottery Bowl
Green glazed eartherware
Morocco
20th Century
Dimensions: 25 cm diameter x 8 cm high
This type of green glazed earthenware pottery originates from the Moroccan Berber village of Tamegroute (Arabic تامكروت), located in the Draa River valley in southern Morocco. The scalloped rim of this bowl, along with the bold abstract splash to the interior and drizzled exterior, make it a particularly attractive example of this distinctive ware.
