    Brief Description:

    An exceptionally painted original 19th Century Watercolour Portrait Painting of a very affluent British Gentleman who is wearing a large Regency Coat and white scarf, standing within a stately, landscape setting.

    Note: We are also selling the companion Portrait Painting, which we believe depicts the Gentleman's wife.

    'Frederick Cruickshank' (1800-1868) Scottish.

    Frederik Cruickshank was born in 1800 in Aberdeen and lived for a time in Manchester with some members of his family. He was a pupil of Andrew Robertson, and between 1822 and 1860 exhibited at London Royal Academy and Society of British Artists. He also worked in Scotland in various country houses. His specialities were miniatures and watercolour portraits. Frederik Cruickshank died in London in 1868.
