    Frederick Tayler (1802-1889) signed in pensil 'Guarding His Master's Uniform' - Watercolour

    (John) Frederick Tayler (30 April 1802- 20 June 1889) was a 19th-century English landscape watercolour painter, and president of the Royal Watercolour Society. His work was much admired by Queen Victoria who purchased several of his pictures, which are now in the Royal collection. He was a regular contributor to the Etching Club, producing numerous etchings which are handled with a lively rapidity perfectly suited to their subject matter.
