    About this item

A 19th century, Wedgwood, black basalt jug with a silver plated rim and hinged lid. This is a very unusual shape to find in basalt and the decoration is also uncommon. The jug has engine turned bands to the top and bottom with a central band which is sprig moulded with putti at play. All of the decoration is very fine quality. It is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1850. It is also impressed with a number ’24’ which would be a batch number.

    Dimensions: Height 21.5cm. Width 11cm. Diameter 9.4cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £25. Most of Western Europe add £12.
