About this item
A large, Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip, jug. This is marked “WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1920. This shape of jug was known as the Etruscan shape. It is decorated, in white relief, with a continuous band of classical figures offering sacrifices. Both above and beneath the figures are fancy border designs with stylised flowers in the Arts Nouveau style. The reliefs are all good quality and the jasper dip is a rich shade of blue. It is in excellent condition.
