About this item
A large, Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip Trophy vase. This design was given the catalogue name “Trophy Vase” because of the reliefs depicting military trophies which adorn the neck of the vase. This example is marked “WEDGWOOD ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1900. The reliefs to the body of the vase depict Apollo and three of the Muses standing between trees and foliage and this is set between various foliate borders. This is a very nice example, with excellent detail to the reliefs, and the jasper dip is a good, deep, shade of blue. It is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height 23.5cm. Diameter 11cm.
