    About this item

A large, Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip, lidded jug. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1880. There is also an impressed number ’12’ and a letter ’S’. The number probably relates to a batch number. The jug us decorated with a continuous band of classical figures offering sacrifices and to the rim is a band of grapes and vines. The lid is decorated with a band of acanthus leaves and there is a further, small floral spring above the cut out in the rim which lines up with the spout. The reliefs are all very good quality and the jasper dip is a good, rich shade of blue. Both the jug and lid are in excellent condition.

Dimensions: Height 22cm. Diameter of base 11.4cm. Width 16.5cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £30. Most of Western Europe add £15.
