About this item
A Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip coffee cup and saucer. Both the cup and saucer are marked “WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND” and they date from c.1920. They are also impressed with two letters, a Y and a U. These are impressed separately so they are not date letters. The cup is decorated, in white relief, with two classical subjects, one to either side, along with foliage and a tree. The saucer is decorated with six different, very small classical groups, between anthemion. All of the reliefs are very good quality and the jasper dip is a very rich shade of blue. Both the cup and saucer are in excellent condition.
