    About this item

A Wedgwood, dark blue, jasper dip, matchbox holder. This is marked “WEDGWOOD ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1900. A standard sized match box of the day was put into the holder. It would have been pushed open slightly by the shaping in the base of the box holder. This would allow you to take matches from inside the box. The holes in the sides allow for the sand paper strikers on the side of the match box still to be accessed for use. It is decorated with various classical subjects. All of the reliefs are very good quality and the jasper dip is a rich shade of blue. It is in excellent condition and it is an un usual design.

    Dimensions: Length 10.5cm. Width 8.5cm. Height 8cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £15. Most of Western Europe add £8.
