About this item
A super quality, pair of Wedgwood solid blue jasper plaques. Each plaque is marked “WEDGWOOD” and they date from c.1820. The solid jasper bodies are decorated, in white relief, with classical figures. The relief decoration is very good quality, with excellent detail and some undercutting. They are both in perfect condition. They are in later frames which consist of a metal border on a wooden back. Although not contemporary with the plaques the style of the frames is well suited to the plaques.
Dimensions of each plaque: Height 18cm. Width 12.5cm. Overall size with frame: Height 20.5cm. Width 15.2cm. Depth 2cm.
