About this item
A Wedgwood, “Rosso Antico” coffeepot with classical decoration. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” to the base and it is also stamped with a letter ’S’. It dates from c.1830. The terracotta body has two classical maidens standing between anthemions, sprig moulded in black jasper. The lid is similarly decorated but with four small scenes of putti at play, and it is surmounted by a widow finial. All of the reliefs are very good quality.
There is a very tiny chip to the end of the spout but, other than that it is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Height 15.5cm. Width 17.5cm. Diameter 11.5cm.
