About this item
A very unusual, Wedgwood part dessert service comprising four plates and a dish. Each piece has an impressed “WEDGWOOD” mark but they are also impressed with a three letter date code mark which dates them to 1915 to 1916. There are further, brown transfer printed marks “WEDGWOOD ETRURIA ENGLAND” and green script pattern numbers “C4484K”. The earthenware plates and dish have pierced, arcaded borders and the centres are decorated with chinoiserie designs which are outlined in a brown transfer print and coloured with polychrome enamels. This is a very unusual design for Wedgwood and pieces are quite rare. All five pieces are in excellent condition.
