About this item
A beautifully coloured, Wedgwood majolica comport. Originally this would have been part of a dessert service. It has an impressed “WEDGWOOD” mark and it is also impressed with the letters “NIR” which date it to 1863. It is well moulded with a small central flower surrounded by large leaves on a basket weave background. This is then coloured with brown, yellow, green and blue majolica glazes. Both the moulded design and the colouring is quite unusual. It is in excellent condition.
