About this item
A rare, Wedgwood, moonlight lustre basket. This has an impressed “WEDGWOOD” mark and it dates from c.1820. The shape is very simple, with a basket weave design to the handle, and the pearlware body is covered all over with a mottled pink and orange lustre glaze. Wedgwood referred to this as their “Moonlight” lustre.
Condition: There is a single crack across the handle which has been glued and stabilised but is still visible. This can be seen in the images. Otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: Diameter 14.8cm. Height 11.2cm.
