    About this item

    An interesting, 19th century wooden flummery mould. Flummery is a sweet dessert made from eggs, milk, sugar and flavourings. It was very popular in the 18th and early 19th centuries and was often moulded in this type of wooden mould. This mould is carved from beechwood and dates from c.1830. It is carved with a lamb and a flower which resembles a cross. This design may have some religious significance. It is in excellent condition.
