    About this item

    An early nineteenth century, two part, wooden butter mould. This is carved, in sycamore, with a swan. The carving is deep and beautifully detailed and the mould is in very good condition. The wooden pegs which would have originally held the mould together are now missing. There are two woodworm holes in the back of the mould but these have been treated and the worm is no longer active.

    English. Date c.1820.

    Dimensions: Length 12cm. Height 8cm. Depth 4.5cm.
