    About this item

    A late 19th century, wooden shortbread mould. This is turned and carved from beechwood and the wood has a lovely grain and patina. To the reverse of the mould is a small brass plaque which reads “SCOBIE & McINTOSH IRONMONGERS 53 COCKBURN ST EDINBURGH”. Scobie and McIntosh set up a company in Edinburgh in 1885 supplying equipment to bakers and the catering industry. This piece dates from c.1890 and it is in excellent condition.
